|Mail server changes - Friday, February 17th, 2006
Due to increased spam/virus activity it was necessary for Excel.Net to make changes in how mail is handled on our network.
Effective immediately we have implemented blocking of port 25 for all outbound connections on dialup, wireless and DSL. The only exception to this would be full blown business class customers where this is necessary to run internal mail servers. If you are affected by this you can try using mail.excel.net for your outbound mail server or contact us for additional suggestions.
Additionally we have implemented more controls on our internal mail servers. There are now limits in place that will not allow high volumes of mail from a single client which is usually a sign of a virus or spammer. We have set the levels such that typical users will not notice any change.
If you have any questions regarding these changes please feel free to contact us by e-mail to email@example.com or giving our office a call.
